ᨒ Keeping an oil free environment ᨒ
The longer oil sits on your extensions, the weaker the bond between the extensions and your natural lashes.
This means avoiding oil based products on your extensions, your lashline, and your surrounding eye area. Think mascara, eyeliner, heavy eye creams, etc.
Of course, natural oil happens, so a good lash cleanser is a must. I carry my favorite lash cleanser at the studio.
I recommend cleansing 1-2x per day.
ᨒ How to cleanse your eyelash extensions ᨒ
(Follow these steps after cleansing the rest of your face. If you use an oil cleanser, do not rinse it down your eyes)
Step 1: Start with a clean cleansing brush. Wash these overtime with lash cleanser to ensure they are staying clean. Pick up a free replacement at the studio whenever necessary.
Step 2: Apply lash cleanser to your lash line.
Use downward motions along the lengths of your extensions, and gentle side-to-side motions along your lash line.
Make sure to cleanse the top and bottom of your extensions, as well as your eyelids and under eyes.
AVOID CIRCULAR MOTIONS, this tangles your extensions
Step 3: Rinse and repeat. A double cleanse ensures an oil free environment.
Step 4 (optional): Using a handheld fan or blow dryer on the cool setting (absolutely no heat on your lashes), dry your lashes to ensure the ultimate fluff ✧˖°.
Step 5: Brush through with a clean spoolie. I offer new spoolies at every appointment, so make sure you are replacing these.
That’s it. Follow these steps 1-2x per day to enjoy healthy and fluffy lashes until your next fill ✧˖°.
